The Problem

Why recreational runners keep getting hurt

  • Static plans that never adapt

AI apps generate a plan once and never change it — regardless of how you slept, how stressed you are, or how your legs feel on any given day.

  • Data you own but cannot use

Your GPS watch tracks 47 metrics per session. None of them are connected to what you should do tomorrow. The data exists. The loop is broken.

  • Coaching that costs €300 per month

A human coach who actually adjusts your plan to how you feel costs €100–500/month. Most recreational runners have no affordable alternative.

Before Formguard

Recreational runners training with a goal have no reliable way to know when to push and when to rest. They follow the same rigid schedule regardless of how tired, stressed, or unwell they feel. Fatigue accumulates silently, injury risk grows invisibly, and the race day they trained months for often never comes.

After Formguard

Runners train with confidence, knowing their plan reflects how they actually feel each day. They no longer guess whether to push or recover — the decision is made for them, clearly explained in language they understand. They stay consistent, stay healthy, and arrive at race day ready to perform.

How it works

Four steps. Training that finally listens.

No new hardware needed. Works with any GPS watch, fitness tracker, or wellness check-ins alone.

1
Rate how you feel

After each session, rate leg fatigue, sleep quality, and energy level on three sliders. Add a note if you want. The whole thing takes 30 seconds.

2
Get your Readiness Score

One number, 1–10, explained in one plain-language sentence. No charts, no metrics to decode. Just a clear signal: push or recover.

Instant
3
Your plan adjusts

When your readiness drops, the next 7 days are automatically rewritten. Every change comes with a one-sentence reason — not an algorithm, a reason.

Run the right session

Open the app on training day. See your session in plain language — effort guidance you can actually follow, not pace zones to decode.

The Technology

What makes Formguard different

Three principles borrowed from aviation safety and clinical medicine — translated into a running app that actually works.

Dual-Signal Readiness Engine

Combines objective wearable data (HRV trend, acute-to-chronic workload ratio) with subjective wellness check-ins — mirroring the dual-signal model used in aviation fatigue risk management. Neither signal alone is sufficient. Together, they predict injury risk with clinical precision.

Adaptive Plan Rewriting

When your readiness score drops below a defined threshold, the next 7–14 days of training are automatically revised. You see what changed, before and after, with a one-sentence reason for every adjustment. No guesswork, no anxiety about falling behind.

Plain-Language Decision Log

Every change is explained in a sentence the runner can act on — not a metric, a reason. Inspired by continuous glucose monitoring: the same proactive, threshold-based feedback loop applied to training load instead of blood sugar.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need a GPS watch or wearable to use Formguard?
No. Formguard works with or without a wearable. The three-slider wellness check-in alone is enough to calculate your readiness score and adjust your plan. If you do have a compatible wearable (Garmin, Apple Watch, Polar), it adds objective HRV and training load data on top — making the signal more accurate. But the system is designed to work for runners at every level of tech adoption.
How is this different from Runna or Garmin Coach?
Runna generates a training plan once and never changes it based on how you feel. Garmin tracks rich physiological data but doesn't adjust your plan based on it. Formguard is the only tool that connects both signals — how your body feels and what your wearable shows — and automatically rewrites your next 7–14 days when your readiness drops. Every change comes with a plain-language reason.
How does a 30-second check-in actually prevent injuries?
Overuse injuries don't happen overnight — they accumulate over weeks of training at the wrong intensity. The three sliders capture the early warning signals runners typically ignore. Research shows subjective wellness self-report is one of the three strongest injury predictors, alongside HRV trend and acute-to-chronic workload ratio. By acting on these signals before the threshold is crossed, Formguard prevents the injury rather than treating it.
Can I use Formguard if I'm a beginner?
Yes — and beginners may benefit most. Experienced runners often have intuitive feel for when to push and when to rest; beginners typically don't. Formguard removes the guesswork entirely: you rate how you feel, and the plan adapts. No sports science knowledge required. Plans scale from first 5K to full marathon preparation.
What happens if I miss a session?
When you log a missed session or an off day, Formguard re-evaluates the remaining week and adjusts accordingly — redistributing load or removing sessions that would create too much acute stress. You won't be pushed to "make up" missed kilometres at a pace your body isn't ready for, which is one of the most common causes of injury in structured training programmes.
